What is National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week®?
This year, the National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week® will take place from March 22nd through the 28th. It is an annual health observance week where teens have an opportunity to get connected with resources that SHATTER THE MYTHS® about drugs and alcohol.
The week was launched in 2010 by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), a federal scientific research institute and is the largest supporter of the world’s research on drug use and addiction.
“NIDA-funded scientific research addresses the most fundamental and essential questions about drug use, including tracking emerging drug use trends, understanding how drugs work in the brain and body, developing and testing new drug treatment and prevention approaches, and disseminating findings to the general public, researchers, policymakers, and others.” – NIDA
What to Know About National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week®
